The SBEA has been around since 1974 supporting
teachers, school nurses, psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers,
DRCs, media specialists, and counselors in district 100.
It is the SBEA's goal to promote the welfare and
educational interests of children, the professional welfare of the teachers of
district 100, and to cooperate and collaborate with all other agencies seeking
these ends.
Our outreach touches communities local and afar. Through collaboration of our council and the
teachers and staff, we've been able to support local families in need, give to
the food pantry, work together at the Berwyn Earth Day Clean Up, and
participate with community sports. We have also helped sponsor two
new initiatives at Heritage Middle School. We donated to the Rachel’s
Challenge Club's “Goat Drive” to support families in need around the world, and
later helped partially fund the first ever summer reading program, which
allowed every HMS student to receive their own book for summer learning.
We look forward to collaborating with teachers around our district to continue to make our community (and those around the world) the best they can be!
